Twisted Flicks: King Kong Escapes!
Twisted Flicks is a monthly comedy show that makes HORRIBLE movies HILARIOUS. Seattle’s funniest improvisers play a bad movie on the big screen, mute the sound and then use your suggestions to make up brand new music, dialogue and sound effects on the spot. It’s sort of like watching someone get a tattoo in an earthquake.
On Saturday, January 27th at 8 pm, Twisted Flicks’ improvisers will make you laugh at a robot King Kong in our temperature-controlled movie theater. You’ll watch the unreal 1967 movie King Kong Escapes (5.6/10 rating on IMDb and 5.8/10 rating on Letterboxd). “King Kong is brought in by an evil ruler to dig for precious gems in a mine when the robot MechaKong is unable to do the task. This leads to the machine and the real Kong engaging in a tremendous battle that threatens to level Japan.”
This movie stars Rhodes Reason, who allegedly disliked the film but ultimately took the role, because he wanted a trip to Japan. King Kong Escapes was similarly disliked. “A lot less fun than one might reasonably expect.” – IMDb Reviewer
Our bar (cider, beer, liquor and wine) and concessions stand (candy, popcorn, soda and La Croix) will be open throughout the movie! So grab a snack, kick back and laugh at Twisted Flicks!
