TWISTED FLICKS and JET CITY IMPROV! You Won’t Believe How Funny These Two Shows Are (#1 is a Killer)
→ Twisted Flicks – The Valley of Gwangi – Three Nights of “Cowboys Battle Monsters in the Lost World of Forbidden Valley.” Thur Jan 31, Fri Feb 1 and Sat feb 2!! 7:30PM.
Twisted Flicks is a monthly comedy show that makes HORRIBLE movies HILARIOUS.
You watch a great old B movie on our big screen without the original sound and Seattle funniest improvisers use your suggestions to make up all new dialogue and sound effects on the spot, including a live musical score!
The Valley of Gwangi was the last dinosaur-themed film that Ray Harryhausen animated. Close to a year was spent on the special effects (there were more than 300 ‘Dynamation’ cuts in the film, a record number for Harryhausen). By the time of the film’s release, interest in monster movies of this type was waning. Studio management changed, and the film was released with little promotional effort on a double-bill with a biker film; it thus missed its target audience and was not as successful as earlier Harryhausen efforts.
