Closed Door Dojo (CLOJO)

This monthly 2 hour drop-in workshop allows current and past Jet City students work out skills developed in our 100 and 200-level classes, particularly concentrating on translating practice to performance.

Students must have completed or be currently enrolled in Improv 103, or have comparable experience.

Drop in on Sundays at the Jet City Improv Theater for a session of exercises and improv work outs led by a Jet City Improv teaching artist on a new topic every time.

Space is limited to 15 students per session. Each Improv CLOJO is $15 ahead of time, and $20 at the door. Current students always pay $15.

Topic: Using IPA To Learn Accents:

Join Matchelorette director Kayla Teel in a brand new introductory workshop, and learn new dialect skills! In this workshop, you will explore how to apply the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA) as a method to learning accents. Accent and dialect work is a crucial skill for any improviser and actor. Unlock the possibilities of new and varied characters, and build your toolbox for performance.
Students should bring a pencil and notebook for this introductory workshop, which will be more focused on on skill-building than application.
