Very Special Episode
Man buns. Selfie sticks. Anonymous text messages. It seems like new dangers are popping up every day and the good people of America have nowhere to turn for guidance.
Thankfully, there’s hope. Jet City Improv is proud to present the world premier of VERY SPECIAL EPISODE – an improvised comedy that tackles today’s problems with all the grace and fortitude of a 90’s sitcom teenager.
Inspired by all those 1980’s and 1990’s TV sitcoms that suspended their light-hearted tone for one episode to take on an emotional or taboo topic of their time, Very Special Episode is here to bring the same gravity (and tension-breaking laugh track) to the trivial challenges of today. Every performance is completely improvised and uses topics suggested by you to create some seriously sappy sitcom episodes that demonstrate how the characters from then might have handled the challenges of now.
When all is said and done and the laughter has died down, society may finally be ready to have a serious conversation with their family about everything from video buffering to CrossFit fanatics.

About Jet City Improv Presents
Very Special Episode is the newest installment to Jet City Improv’s line of improvised plays. Unlike most short-form improv formats that involve improvisers switching from game to game and creating brand new scenes every time, Jet City Improv Presents is an ongoing series of longform improv shows that present one or many stories around one cohesive theme. Improv still lies at the heart of each show, and every story is created based on unique suggestions and input every night. So yes, even though Jet City Improv Presents shows have sets and costumes and some thematic rules, the major role of the audience guarantees that no two performances are ever alike.
