Sights and Sounds of the 2016 Brew-Ha-Ha

Posted Jun 27, 2016 in Improv For Good

When you’re on your way to turning 25 years old, chances are your friends know how to party. Case in point: our ears are still ringing from all chanting, toasting, and laughing at the 2016 Brew-Ha-Ha.

Over 200 guests came out to 415 Westlake to raise a glass to Jet City Improv’s production, education, and outreach work, and they weren’t quiet about it. There were 62 prizes hidden in balloons that needed popping, nine cries of victory as raffle prizes were won, and exclusive live auction items that involved everything from a chance to play video games on Jet City’s giant movie screen to a tray of awful tequila shots that could be delivered to the table of your choice.

Pictured: tequila that somehow managed to taste worse than it looks.

The night also featured a special performance by SHEILA (the winners of this year’s Seattle Open), a preview of Election Show 2016, classic comedy from Jet City Improv, and the reveal of the 2016-2017 season of Jet City Improv Presents shows, all of which were book-ended with cheers that are still bouncing off the rafters.

Ah yes, the ol’ clap and point.

Thanks to the tremendously generous and outstanding folks in attendance, we were able to raise over $20,000 to support Jet City Improv’s production, education, and outreach programs, including 21 performances at 12 different summer camps for kids with life-altering illnesses or disabilities that we’ll be visiting over the next three months, including a return to Kiwani’s Camp Casey (pictured below).

All this giving was made possible by the support of Aldaris CPA Group and The Northshore Performing Arts Center and the thirst-quenching powers of our drink sponsors: Georgetown Brewing, Proletariat Wine, Buckley’s, Two Beers Brewing and Seattle Cider Company, Mac & KJack’s.

Plans are already in place to make next year’s party even bigger, so keep your eye on this space for all the festivies we’ll have for Jet City Improv’s silver anniversary. Until then, pour yourself a cold one for Jet City’s 24 years and be sure to thank any of the following folks who made this event possible!
