Classes Start the Week of Sept 20th

Explore how to turn improvised scenes into compelling stories. This class introduces you to long-form narrative improv, the foundation of Jet City Improv’s signature style of fully improvised plays.

You’ll learn how to build and sustain characters, develop story arcs across multiple scenes, and use classic storytelling frameworks to create strong narrative structure. Whether your goal is to perform long-form shows or simply sharpen your storytelling skills, this class will give you the tools and confidence to bring your ideas to life onstage.

In this class, you will:
  • Build and sustain character and story across multiple scenes
  • Explore long-form formats with a focus on narrative clarity
  • Use tools like the Hero’s Journey and three-act structure to guide your scenes
  • Practice weaving a well-constructed ensemble story
  • Identify themes, stakes, and emotional threads
  • Strengthen group support in long-form performance
  • Take part in a final student showcase

Who: Adults 18 and older

Prerequisite: Completion of Improv 104 at Jet City Improv, or equivalent improv experience elsewhere

Course order: 200-level classes may be taken in any order.

Price: $400 for 8 weeks
Included with your class: Free admission to most Jet City Improv shows during your class session, subject to availability.

​Note: This class has eight class sessions instead of the normal seven. The showcase takes place before the final class, so the last session can be used for reflection, feedback, and next steps.​

Refund Policy
  • Tuition is refundable if the student contacts Jet City Improv more than two weeks before the first class. A $50 administrative fee will be deducted from the refund.
  • Refund requests received within two weeks of the first class are not eligible for a refund. At Jet City Improv’s discretion, tuition may instead be held as a credit toward a future class.
  • If Jet City Improv cancels a class due to low enrollment, registered students will receive a full refund.
  • Please contact the Education Department at [email protected] regarding questions about payment, refunds, or class credit.
Additional Notes
  • All students must attend the first day of classes.
  • You must attend 7 out of the 8 classes to move onto the next course.
  • We do not offer make-up sessions for classes you do not attend.
