The core of our outreach work is our performances and workshops for kids in the community and around the Northwest.
Every summer, we take Jet City Improv across the state of Washington to perform summer camps for kids with life-altering illnesses or disabilities (such as cancer, Muscular Dystrophy, juvenile diabetes, physical disabilities, or developmental disabilities), or kids recovering from the loss of a loved one. We bring laughter to kids that need it the most, at no cost to the organizations that operate the camps. |
These kids have to deal with hardship all year round, but at these camps they can laugh, play, be with one another, and just get to feel like being a kid. As the camp counselors tell us, Jet City Improv’s performances are one of the highlights of their stay at the camps, and they always greet us with excitement, smiles and cheers, because they know that as soon as we arrive, they are just minutes away from laughing at a great show, shouting out suggestions for our improv scenes, and sometimes even joining us in the fun on stage.
In 2025, Jet City Improv continued its mission of bringing laughter, connection, and moments of joy to youth across Washington. Our teams traveled throughout the region to perform at camps and community programs that serve young people with serious medical conditions, disabilities, trauma histories, and other life challenges.
These kids face hardship throughout the year, yet during these programs they get to laugh, play, be silly with their peers, and simply feel like themselves. Counselors often tell us our visit is one of the highlights of their camp session, and campers greet our performers with excitement, big smiles, and eager suggestions for scenes.
