Trigger warning / content warning: loss of a community member
Jet City Improv is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of a stalwart community member, Edwin “Ted” Jones, who served as a house manager for 12 years. Many volunteers, cast, staff members, students, patrons, and others from the Jet City Improv community shared an affinity for Ted’s warmth, dedication, generosity, and love of this community. Ted was a vital part of more than 800 shows and his contributions helped to shape the heart and soul of our theater.
Ted was always approachable, welcoming, and consistent. Ted’s steady presence and bellowing laugh let you know you were in the right place for a wonderful performance. Ted left an indelible mark on Jet City Improv and all who had the privilege of working with him. His impact will be felt for years to come, and his absence leaves a void that words can hardly express.
Ted’s brother, Rob Jones, recently shared his gratitude with the Jet City staff, saying, “Thank you for including him in your wonderful, open and wacky corner of the world,” perfectly capturing what made Ted feel at home here and what makes our community so special.
