Improv 101

Looking to increase confidence, boost your public-speaking skills, or become more spontaneous on your feet? Join JCI's six-week course, and get started on your improv journey.

Prerequisites:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • All students must be fully vaccinated to attend

When:
  • MONDAY, August 29th – October 10th, 7:30-9:30PM in Seattle Center
    (No class Monday 9/26)
  • TUESDAY, August 30th – October 11th, 7:30-9:30PM in Seattle Center
    (No class Tuesday, 9/27)
  • WEDNESDAY, August 31st – October 12th, 7:30-9:30PM in Seattle Center
    (No class Wednesday, 10/5)

Where: In-Person, at Theater Puget Sound (305 Harrison St), 4th floor of the Armory in Seattle Center

Price:  $300 for 6 weeks

Discover the basic vocabulary and techniques behind the art of improv through scenes, games and exercises in a fun, supportive environment. We cap this class at 18 students.

In this class, you will:
  • Show up by yourself or with friends.
  • Play fun warm-up games.
  • Learn the basic building blocks of improv
  • Get individualized coaching and notes.
  • Leave with more friends.

Refund Policy
  • Tuition can only be fully refunded if student contacts Jet City Improv one or more weeks prior to the date of the first class.
  • Refund or deferment requests received after that time are not eligible for a refund or deferment, with the exception of deferments due to COVID-policy shifts as noted below.
  • Please contact the Education Director at education@jetcityimprov.com regarding questions about payment, refunds, and deferment.
  • Please note: If we do not hit a minimum number of students enrolled by one week before the class begins, we may delay the beginning of this class by one (1) week or shorten the class by 30 minutes.
    If the class time is shortened, registered students will be partially refunded to reflect a pro-rated tuition. 
 
COVID-19 Policies:
  • The instructor for this course will be vaccinated, and all students are required to be fully vaccinated as well. This class will take place entirely indoors. Students will sign a COVID waiver prior to attending.
  • ​We will continue to abide by the latest recommendation of King County. Students should assume they will be masked in the classroom. 
  • Students will be given prior notice to any shift in policy, and will be given the opportunity to defer their tuition at any time if they no longer wish to participate. 

Additional Notes
  • Current and prospective students can find our classroom policies here!
  • All students must attend the first day of classes.
  • You must attend 5 out of the 6 classes to move onto the next course. Absences due to COVID-related symptoms will not be counted against students, as we want all students to prioritize the health of the group.
  • We do not offer make up sessions for classes you do not attend.
  • All classes are subject to a change in day/time/venue/instructor.
