What is Jet City Improv?
Jet City Improv is our flagship ensemble, established in 1992. It was a short-form, non-competitive show, each show consisting of about 12 short-form scenes/games. The show was fast-paced, funny, and suitable for all ages. Now under the leadership of a new director, Mario Orallo-Molinaro, the JCI Ensemble has evolved into the main talent pool for our IMPROV4GOOD performances, production programming, and more. We draw on acting techniques, classic theater and long form improvisational theater, and feature a high level of storytelling including complex characters and complete and compelling story arcs. Also highlighted are improv games that focus on characters, emotions and relationships. The scenes and improv games average five to seven minutes in length.
Must be 18 or older to audition.
When are the auditions?
June 23, 6:00pm-8:00pm - GA Auditions
June 24, 11:30am-1:00pm, 1:30pm-3:30pm - GA Auditions
Callbacks:
June 26 - 7:30pm-10:00pm – Callbacks
How will the auditions work?
Starting 6/12, you will sign up for a two-hour audition slot. At these audition slots, we will play a variety of improv games and scenes.
You may be called back for the JCI Callbacks on 6/26, 7:30pm-10:00pm. These callbacks are 2 hours in length, where will play more improv games and do improv scenes. It is possible you will not be called back for either.
If I am cast, what is the time Commitment? What is the frequency of rehearsing and performing? Do these shows pay? Where does everything take place?
Leadership
We expect all performers to be model performers, which include such expectations as arriving to rehearsals and performances on time, communicating with the directors if cannot make a rehearsal, listen intently to the director, showing respect for all individuals, and having civil discussions about policy, style, show content.
How do I sign up? What is the deadline? Where do the auditions take place?
The deadline to sign up to audition is Thursday, June. 22.
Audition location: The Drama Room, 5031 University Way NE, Seattle, WA 98105

- New Hires most complete an orientation/training prior to performance.
- Jet City Improv performances pay per show
- Jet City Improv rehearsals currently take place at The Drama Room (University Heights Center in the University District Neighborhood of Seattle)
