Our Board members are volunteers who oversee the nonprofit organization Jet City Improv, assisting in governance, finance, human resource management, and fundraising. It takes a special kind of person to commit time to any nonprofit, especially an arts organization. Jet City Improv’s board is made up of people who love improv theater and our outreach efforts.

Pam Forquera (she/her) - President
president@jetcityimprov.org
Pam joined the Jet City board in May, 2022, and is excited for the opportunity to give back to an organization that has given her so much. She especially values the enduring friendships, broadened perspectives, and personal growth developed through improv. A Seattle native and proud UW Husky, Pam earned a Master’s Degree at San Diego State University. Her career as a nationally certified speech-language pathologist (SLP) spanned more than thirty years working with children and young adults in public schools and private practice. Pam began classes at Jet City in 2017 and immediately recognized the applicability of improv fundamentals to her profession. She incorporated warmups and games into social communication activities with her neurodiverse clients and trained fellow SLPs in the techniques. Now retired, Pam considers improv classes and performances to be an important component in her efforts at healthy aging. She loves to snorkel, is attempting to learn to tap dance, and is an enthusiastic world traveler. |
Brandon Minaya (he/him) – Vice President
vice-president@jetcityimprov.org Brandon is an interdisciplinary individual at heart: a techie with a creative side, knack for process improvement, and passion for data-driven solutions. During the day he’s in the business of managing evidence-informed implementations and at night, the business of making people laugh. His entrepreneurial spirit has led him to manage projects and initiatives in all types of settings spanning academic research, technology, and startup development. As a transplant to Seattle from Tucson, he was able to break the ‘Seattle Freeze’ by stumbling into the mysterious yellow building a block away from his apartment, finding a welcoming community of comedians. He’s spent the past few years as an active performer in Seattle’s comedy scene and thanks both Jet City Improv’s shows and classes for introducing him to a wide network of comedy-adjacent individuals. His engagements as a performer in the greater Seattle area and ties to members of the JCI give him a perspective on JCI’s board as an advocate for the Seattle-area performers. |
Monz Morales (she/her) – Treasurer
treasurer@jetcityimprov.org Monzerrat is the newest member of the board, just recently joining in June of 2020. Monzerrat is a CPA who has spent the majority of her accounting career in the tech startup space overseeing all functions of accounting. She loves building from bottom up and helping in the planning areas of a business to help them reach their goals. She enjoys solving a good challenge and wants to constantly be learning and growing. Monzerrat double majored in Accounting and Finance at Seattle Pacific University. Having been a frequent visitor of JCI for the last 10 years, she was excited for the opportunity to jump in and help JCI in their mission. Monzerrat is a Seattle native and can typically be found running around the city with her husband exploring new gyms, bakeries, bars, and restaurants. |
PJ Weisberg (he/him) - Secretary
PJ took his first Jet City class in 2009, and has been in love with the company ever since. He's devoured improv classes and workshops, spent some time as a volunteer at the theater, performed improv around town, and seen more shows than he can count. He's excited to contribute to the JCI family in any way he can. He loves dogs, and he will never turn down an invitation to karaoke. |
Daphne Taylor (she/her) - Board Member
Daphne joined the board in 2023. She is a finance executive, spending her career in public company finance teams. She’s a finance geek, who loves to dive in and figure out complex situations. Daphne focuses on her people and teaching and always makes time to share her knowledge. She joined the Jet City community in 2017, when she took her first improv 101 class and fell in love with it. Daphne’s a Bothell resident with her husband, four cats and two dogs and had two daughters and a sweet grandson in Seattle. |

-Bryan Mize (former Board President)
“Improv performers do not just embrace “yes, and” on the stage. They are fearless in strategic planning processes and giving of their time, talent, and treasure to keep the doors open to their beloved improv home. While I like to believe that I was helpful to the organization, the improvisers gave me their can-do spirit, a gift that I use every day at work and daily life.”
-Carla Villar (former Board President) |
“Jet City Improv is truly a wonderful organization with strong values and a really fun creative culture. I can assure anyone considering a board position that your thoughts and ideas will be valued and your experience is needed to help the business prosper. I can also tell everyone that the theater world is a little addictive and you may just get hooked – I know I did!”
-Tim Seaton |
“Comedy is such a critically important form of artistic expression, and to whatever extent that JCI helps fill that need in Seattle, I take pride in knowing that I played my own small part in helping make that happen.”
- Matt Grabowski (former Board President) |
