The Emerald City Slasher RETURNS!
An improvised PMW murder mystery!
TW: Blood, horror, and reenactments of killing and violence.
The infamous Emerald City Slasher makes a gripping return this October with an all-new series of improvised murder mysteries. Picture the Emerald City—a rain-drenched metropolis adorned with lush green landscapes, potent vegan coffee, and a thriving tech hub. While traffic may be a nuisance, it fades to insignificance in the face of the mesmerizing reddish-orange sunset that graces the evenings. USA Today likened the "Emerald City" to the next San Francisco, albeit with a touch of melancholy. However, the city's harmony is shattered when a serial killer strikes, setting the community on an altered course. Prepare to immerse yourself in an improvised Pacific Northwest murder mystery, where you take the reins to craft the characters. Join their journey as they unravel the identity of the looming threat or confront the chilling possibility of becoming the next victim of... The Emerald City Slasher! Brace yourself, for the killer's true identity will morph in every performance! Mwahaha. 🕵️♂️🔍🌆 Directed by Mario Orallo-Molinaro |

Cast
Rebecca Stoller (she/her)
Rebecca Stoller had her first show at age 5 in her living room wrapped in toilet paper. She continued dancing through College in New York City and then moved to San Francisco where she danced with Contraband Guerrilla Theater, and performed at night clubs and taught hip hop. She has recently returned to the stage and has fallen in love with improv. She performed with Mars, Dave Razowsky and Jet City Lab’s Squawk Squad. |
Madi Thomas (she/her)
Madi comes back once again to the emerald city, having survived being cast in last year's cast. This year she is delighted to be a part of a brand new cast .
She has performed previously for Jet City doing Tragic School Bus, Glimmer, and Emerald City Slasher season 1. She is currently an ensemble member at Jet City as well, and you may catch her at one of their flagship shows at U Heights. Besides Improv, Madi likes bonsai, quiet nights under the Emerald City stars, and spending time with her family. Will she survive this round? You'll have to see and find out! |
Saina Hussain (she/her)
Saina loves the delightful torture of improv where she breaks her brain over and over again only to have it repaired back weirder than before. She is an ensemble member at Jet City Improv and made her debut performance in the 90s nostalgia show Super Sonic. In her spare time she likes to curse at the feral cat colony in her side yard and open the refrigerator door every half hour hoping something delicious will appear. She is thrilled to be a part of Emerald City Slasher and create murderous delight with a super talented group of improvisors! |
Josh Hunter (he/him)
Josh is a Michigan native that relocated to the PNW in 2008. He's been serving the Seattle area as a certified personal trainer and group fitness instructor since 2010 and finds joy in teaching people to be strong, inside and out. His experience on stage teaching large groups and in front of the camera as a commercial model led him to Jet City where he gets to share his love of laughter with people NOT doing pushups. Josh is currently on the Pro Roster at ComedySportz Seattle. |
Randy Dixon (he/him)
Randy Dixon has been improvising since 1980, and is a highly regarded improvisational artist around the world. In addition to many shows directed and performed in Seattle, Randy founded and directs Orcas Island Project a multinational group of twelve performers from ten countries. OIP develops, explores, and investigates interactive theatrical forms. They have performed in various locations around the US and Europe. Randy has taught improvisational theater and acting all around the world. His approach to improvisation has been influenced by his studies with Del Close (creator of the Harold), Paul Sills (creator of Second City), and Keith Johnstone (Author of Impro). His book, Being Present: Spontaneous Storytelling and the Art of Improvisation has been published in German and Slovene, more languages coming! |
Kat Schelonka (she/her)
Kat is thrilled to return to the Jet City Presents stage. A longtime musical theater performer, Kat first started learning improv in 2018 after moving to Seattle. She has been with the Jet City Ensemble since early 2022. Outside of the Jet City Flagship show, you may have seen her in Britain's Baking Challenge, A Very Die Hard Christmas, or JOURNEY WEST!. |
Alyss Flynn (she/her)
Alyss is stoked to get slashin’ (or slashed) in her first-ever Jet City production! Alberta-born and Texas-raised, Alyss moved to Seattle in 2020 seeking better vibes. She began taking improv classes in 2021 at Csz Seattle and has since been a part of CSz’s The Loop, Crooked Street Theater’s News Night Now!, and is a recent addition to the Jet City Ensemble. Outside of improv, you can find her throwing lumpy pottery, climbing and collecting rocks, and eating it on roller skates. |
Darrin Schultz (he/him)
Darrin Schultz has been writing and performing comedy in Seattle for about one quarter of his life. He's returning to Jet City Improv after joining the cast in the Emerald City Slasher last year, and couldn't be happier to be doing goofs and murders with this incredible group of improvisors. Darrin performs sketch comedy as often as possible as a solo performer and with his group Maple Daddies, who have recently performed at festivals in Toronto, Portland and Seattle. He high-fived Buoy, the Seattle Kraken mascot, last year and is still bragging about it. |
Nick Kruger (He/Him)
Nick Kruger has been performing Sketch and Improv comedy for 14 years. He is excited to slash/be slashed in his first production with Jet City Improv. He has primarily been producing, writing, and performing with his Sketch comedy group The Maple Daddies for the past 6 years. The Maple Daddies have performed in Toronto, Portland, and Seattle Sketchfest, which means they are technically an international touring group. When he is not working with the Dads, he enjoys filmmaking, prop making, and cycling. His film group Fourthmeal won Audience Favorite at the 2022 Seattle 48hr Film Festival with the film Reset. Fourthmeal didn't win anything in 2023 which keeps him humble. You can find him putting in minimum effort on instagram @nickruger, or check out the Maple Daddies on YouTube and Instagram @mapledaddies. |
Erika Lowe (she/her)
Erika Lowe is originally from Los Angeles, California where her acting and improv roots started with tv pilots, musical theater, and ComedySportz Los Angeles. Erika later did stand up, sketch comedy and improv with Spark Arts and Vermont Comedy Club in Burlington, Vermont until moving to Seattle. She's been a cast member with CSz Seattle at the Atlas Theater in Fremont since 2019, where she regularly performs in Boom Bap, Dubious Advice, Full Disclosure, Sound and Fury, Something Great, ComedySportz, All In and the Blue Show. She serves on the Board of Directors for Bandit Theater, where she's performed in their shows Who's High, The Bandit Bit Show and a production of Stand Up and Clown with Los Angeles clown anarchist Chad Damiani. Jet City Improv cast Erika in Joy Market, Seattle's first improv/sketch show with an all Asian American Pacific Islander cast last spring. This is her second time being cast in Jet City's The Emerald City Slasher, and she's delighted to have the opportunity to die several more times on stage. |
Rebekah Schroeter (she/her)
Rebekah Schroeter is so excited to be in The Emerald City Slasher! She has been a main cast member of Jet City Improv since 2018, and has performed in The Matchelorette (2019) Stabbin Cabin (2019), Hogwash (2007) and directed GLIMMER (2020), an improvised wrestling show all throughout her years at JCI. She continues to teach and perform improv whenever she can while working in the tech industry during the day. She is so thankful for her husband Kyle, and the support and laughter he continues to share with her and of course their many animals. |
Lee Hopps (they/them)
Lee Hopps is a non-binary queer performer. Their physicality, vulnerable characters, and narrative storytelling allow them to express true creativity, freedom, and break from societal norms. They have been improvising for 12+ years, and teaching since 2018. They perform regularly with Jet City Improv, and have also performed with Bandit Theatre (The Reader, Who’s High?) and CSzSeattle (Sound & Fury). Lee loves to share once-in-a-lifetime magic moments with their students, fellow performers, and audiences. They also believe that the skills learned through improvising are applicable off the stage: saying “yes-and” to whatever life throws at you is an invaluable skill. |
Scott Flanary (he/him)
Scott is thrilled to be a part of The Emerald City Slasher again this year. Scott loves doing improv for you. He is on the Pro Roster at ComedySportz Seattle in Fremont and an ensemble member of the American Immersion Theater, and he is a proud alum of Jet City Improv’s Squawk Squad. Outside of comedy, Scott manicures his mustache and watches every iteration of RuPaul’s Drag Race. |
Matthew Bernhardt (He/him)
Matthew's desire for attention evolved into a love of improv, leading him to the Jet City stage first in 2019 for JCI Presents Yes Anderson, and onwards to achieve Jet City Improv ensemble status in 2022. An Aussie in the States since 2014, Matthew likes to act “extra-Australian” while here and “extra-American” while home — in a ploy to always be the center of attention. He has been known to keep cold items in the trunk of his car because it’s “colder back there.” In his free time, Matthew is a competitive bowler, claims he can “probably” run a four-minute mile, drunkenly misuses photobooths, and has a penchant for sweets. |
