"It's improvised improv"
Inspired by the Seattle Festival of Improv Theater, at The Dust Up you will see improvisers from various Seattle-based groups randomly assigned to each other, creating new teams, on the spot, that have never existed before.
Team members and team size (2-4) will be chosen at random, RIGHT before each scene!

Hey, Western Washington Improv Community! LET'S GET BACK ON STAGE and do some improv TOGETHER! Audiences are eager to see us in the real world, and laugh - as safely as possible.
Therefore, I (as a representative of Jet City Improv) would love to invite you to an IN-PERSON DUST UP on Saturday, Feb. 26!
Wait, what is a Dust Up?
It’s a twist on the classic improv jam.
In this version, I’ll pull names out of hat to decide who is on each team RIGHT BEFORE the scene starts.
Where is this happening?
This is happening at the University Heights Center Auditorium (5031 University WAY NE).
Will it cost money?
This is FREE for performers. Tickets are $12 for audience members.
Did you say when is this happening?
The Dust Up will be Saturday, February 26 (performance at 10:00pm PDT. Call time will be 9:15pm for a pre-performance meeting and warm-ups.)
How long is it? How long do I get to perform? How many people will I be performing with?
The whole performance will last approx. 90 minutes (10:00pm-11:30pm)
Depending on how many people sign up, you are likely perform in two-three scenes (each time with a different set of improvisers), and each scene will be 5-10 minutes long (or longer!). (Sorry, I'm still figuring out the math!)
Who gets to be a part of this?
This is for all of us Washingtonian improvisers! I want to make this fun and open for everyone - Therefore, pretty much anyone with any improv performing experience is invited!
WHAT will be the improv? Will it be short-form games? Will it be a format I have to learn?
That is up to you and your team! While the team prior to you is performing, your team gets to meet and discuss what sort of format you want to do! There is nothing wrong with just doing an open scene - but you can also come up with something more specialized than that!
